With business cards, of course. Each store or a business has a business card that will tell you their essentials (phone, address, etc.) but also has a map for the taxi driver to find the place. So when you want to go somewhere, you just grab the right card, hand it to your taxi driver and off you go. If you don't have a card for the place you want to visit, you can call them on your cell phone and they will text you their address in Chinese, which again you can show your driver. Pretty handy, eh? :)
